David Blood
Managing Partner,
Generation Investment Management


Prior to co-founding Generation, David served as the co-CEO and CEO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management from 1999 to 2003. His responsibilities included all aspects of the global business including portfolio management, sales and client service, risk management and infrastructure (approximately 1600 people and $325 billion in assets under management). From 1985 to 1999, David served in various positions at Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. including Head of European Asset Management, Head of International Operations, Technology and Finance, Treasurer of the Goldman Sachs Group, L.P. and Head of Global Private Capital Markets. He was also a member of the Partnership Committee and the European Management Committee.

David was the first recipient of the John L. Weinberg Award in 1990, an award given to a professional in the investment banking division who best typifies Goldman Sachs' core values.

David received a B.A from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y. and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of The Acumen Fund and SHINE.





Anshu Jain
Head of Global Markets,
Deutsche Bank

Anshu Jain is Head of Global Markets, Joint Head of the Corporate and Investment Bank, and a member of Deutsche Bank's Group Executive Committee. He is globally responsible for Deutsche Bank's 6,000-person sales and trading operations, including government and corporate bonds, commodities, emerging markets, equities, foreign exchange, money markets, interest rate and credit derivatives. From a standing start in 1995, Deutsche Bank has grown to be among the largest firms active in global markets, ranking among the top two by earnings in 2007.

Previously at Deutsche Bank, Anshu has been global head of fixed income sales and trading, global head of derivatives and emerging markets as well as the global head of institutional client coverage. Anshu joined Deutsche Bank in 1995 to set up and run a specialist unit focusing on structured derivative transactions. Prior to his career at Deutsche Bank, Anshu was a managing director at Merrill Lynch in New York where he founded and led the securities industry's first dedicated hedge fund coverage group. Between 1985 and 1988 he worked in Derivatives Research at Kidder Peabody.

In addition to his Deutsche Bank commitments Anshu is a non-executive director of Sasol, South Africa's leading oil and gas company. He has also served as a member of the Prime Minister's Working Group on Inward Investment in India. Anshu is a 2005 recipient of the American Indian Foundation's Achievement Award for philanthropy and ongoing involvement in India's development. He was the 2003 winner of Euromoney Magazine's Capital Markets Achievement Award“ the most prestigious individual award in investment banking.

Anshu is 45 years old, married with two children and lives in London. He holds an MBA in Finance (Beta Gamma Sigma) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a BA (Honours) in Economics from Delhi University.  Anshu and his wife Geetika are active supporters of a range of wildlife and environmental conservation charities.




Diana Farrell,
Director,
McKinsey Global Institute (MGI)

MGI's independent investigations combine McKinsey's microeconomic understanding of companies and industries with the rigor of leading macroeconomic thinking to derive perspectives and publish reports on important global economic issues.  MGI is widely acclaimed as a key contributor to economic debates, and its research is regularly featured in international publications. MGI has published in-depth, sector-based productivity studies of nearly 20 economies around the world across more than 30 industries and has also covered the relationship between IT and productivity. Other research priorities include: global economic integration, the ascendance of China and India, labor markets and offshoring, capital markets, health care, global energy demand, consumer demand, and demographic shifts.

Ms. Farrell's work has appeared in academic journals, books, and on the op-ed pages of leading international publications, and she is a frequent speaker at major US and global conferences. Together with Lowell Bryan, she is the co-author of Market Unbound, published by Wiley & Sons, 1996.  She is also the editor of an anthology series based on MGI research, published by Harvard Business School Press.

Ms. Farrell was previously a McKinsey partner in the Washington, D.C. office and a leader of McKinsey's Global Financial Institutions and Global Strategy practices.  She has served clients around the world in a variety of capacities.  Prior to joining McKinsey, she worked with Goldman, Sachs & Company in New York.

Ms. Farrell has a B.A. from Wesleyan University in Economics and in the College of Social Studies.  She also holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Ms. Farrell is a member of Council on Foreign Relations, the Bretton Woods Committee, and the Pacific Council on International Policy; a trustee for the Committee for Economic Development; a Board Advisor to the Bay Area Economic Pulse; a member of the Bay Area Economic Forum's Research Council; and Senior Advisor to the American Assembly's Next Generation Project.
